Remote shoots from Sowton Studio

Remote shooting is available from the studio.
The studio charge will remain at £20 for in person shoots but the charge for remote shooting be £25 per hour

What you will need (as the Photographer)

A laptop or desktop computer and this will be needed to remotely access the studio laptop and camera. You will need to join a zoom meeting prior to taking control of the camera.

Good WiFi access

Mobile phone / tablet to video call.

Preparation

In preparation for the shoot day you should let me know what studio setting / backdrop you are looking for and agree the camera lens to use etc.

The model will need your phone number in order to video call you at the required time, and by the agreed platform - facetime (preferred) or whatsApp

Lights - I would suggest a key light in front of the model and a kicker light behind for studio work, in other sets natural light may be all you need and sometimes with just a small fill light.

Proceedure

We will set up a video call and establish the remote connection.

remote screen

You will see all the current camera settings and can check RAW / Jpg options – the raw files will be *.ARW files so you will need to ensure your editing software can access these file types, alternatively you could set the *.jpg option.

You will be using the cameras live view and be able to set speed, aperture, ISO etc

You will be able to move the grey focus box around the screen to select where you are going to set the focus area (orange lines) – click on the focus button AF (alternative G) which will go orange when focus achieved followed by a click on the shutter button (alternative 1) to take the picture.

The images will be able to be viewed on the view tab after they have been taken

The images will be saved to the studio laptop and uploaded to the cloud (Microsoft one drive)
When the shoot has finished and payment received you will receive an email link to download the images.
